How-To-Do-It Books
The growth of the internet has opened up access to an infinity of niche publishing markets. Hobbiests and self-learners now can connect with experts of all kinds. And with the advent of affordable self-publishing an expert in any field can now market their expertise to a readily-accessible audience.
Listening to our clients, we've discovered that one of the most common reasons for authors to self-publish is to be able to control how their book communicates to their audience without the meddling of a publisher who may or may not "get" how to present their specialty. Authors wanted to make their own decisions about the book title, book size, cover design, editing, typography, page layouts, press runs, marketing and publishing date. A writer under contract to a commercial publisher generally has no say at all in these decisions, while a self-publishing author has the final word on these decisions.
At Longfeather Book Design we work for you. We're here to advise and guide but for the most part we listen and team up with you to create a book that's pitch perfect for you and your audience.

Longfeather Book Design did a fantastic job designing my book. They put forth a herculean effort on the large and complex layout of my very image-oriented book, getting the text placement, color tones, and many, many minor details just right. The book is selling very well and I attribute a portion of that success to Longfeather's ability to “get” what the book is all about and translating that understanding to the layout.
